FINANCING

Project „Chopin’s Heritage on the Royal Tract in the Ostrogski Palace in Warsaw” No. POIS.11.01.00-00-054/09 within the activity 11.1 Protection and preservation of the cultural heritage of over-regional importance, priority XI Culture and cultural heritage of the EU Programme ‘Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013’.

 

Description of the project:
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute has become the beneficiary of the programme on the 1st of March 2010, during the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth.

Within the activity 11.1. Protection and preservation of the cultural heritage of over-regional importance, priority XI Culture and cultural heritage of the Operational  Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007-2013 a grant agreement No. POIS.11.01.00-00-054/09-00 has been signed.

EU founds from the project will be given to co-finance the revaluation of the Ostrogski Palace in Warsaw and to create the new permanent exhibition in the Fryderyk Chopin Museum.

The modernization of the Museum is aimed to protect the building and increase its usability values by i.a. enlarging the exhibiting area and adapting the object for disabled visitors. As an effect the Fryderyk Chopin Museum will become a modern exhibiting and educational institution.

Duration of the project: January 2007 – December 2011

 

Scope of the project:
The scope of the Project is to do the necessary reparations and building works and to purchase the equipment for the new exhibition. The other financed activities: conservation of exhibits, purchasing reproductions, preparing the concept of the new exhibition and all audio-visual elements.  

 

Aims and benefits:
The main aim of the project is to increase the attractiveness of the cultural and touristic offer of Warsaw through the promotion of the output of Chopin.

The modernization of the Museum in aimed to protect the palace and increase its usability values by i.a. enlarging the exhibiting area and adapting the object for disabled visitors. As an effect the Fryderyk Chopin Museum will become a modern exhibiting and educational institution.

The project is designed to improve the condition of the building and to effectively use the monuments of European and Poland importance. Creating six new workplaces within the Project is one of the indicators of the effectiveness.

One of the most important benefits of the Project is that the Chopin Museum will become part of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth.
