OPENING HOURS

Fryderyk Chopin's birthplace and Park are opened:

  • from April 1st to September 30th: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
    (The last visitors will enter the Museum at 6.15 p.m., The Birthplace is closed at 6.45 p.m.)
  • Park - from April 1st to April 30th and from September 1st to September 30th: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Park - from May 1st to August 31st: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • from October 1st to March 31st: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    (The last visitors will enter the Museum at 4.15 p.m., The Birthplace is closed at 4.45 p.m.)
  • March 31st Musem and Park: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • May 1st, 3rd, 20th, 31st Museum: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Park: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • museum staff listed in the National Museums Register [Państwowy Rejestr Muzeów],
  • members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) or the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS),
  • holders of Polish Card [Karta Polaka], referred to in the Act of 7 September 2007 regarding Polish Card (Ustawa o Karcie Polaka, Dz.U. no.180, item 1280 and from 2008 no.52, item 305)
  • children under the age of 7.

 

Legal basis
Council of Ministers Directive from 10 June 2008 in regard to description of group of people, who are eligible to fee concession or free entry to national museums, and the type of documents confirming their entitlements (Dz.U. from 3 September 2008).

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

- Throughout the year, we invite you to visit the permanent exhibition located in Fryderyk Chopin’s Birthplace, as well as the temporary exhibition located in the Prelude reception pavilion;

- As part of the admission ticket, guests have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin and Park in Żelazowa Wola, the temporary exhibition and the park:

  • Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:00 and 2:00 PM
  • Thursday and Friday at 12:15 and 2:15 PM

Saturday and Sunday:

  • 11:00 AM – tour of permanent and temporary exhibition
  • 1:00 PM – tour of permanent exhibition and park (tour conducted in English)
  • 2:00 PM – tour of permanent exhibition and park

Reservations are required. Maximum number of persons: 30

- We invite you to familiarize yourself with the educational program of the Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin and Park in Żelazowa Wola, which is addressed to families with children, preschools, primary and secondary schools, students and adults. You will find more information about this in our current events;

- Every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of May to the end of September, you can hear Chopin Recitals in the rendition of the most distinguished Polish and foreign pianists. The concerts take place at 12:00 and 3:00 PM;

- Every Thursday and Friday from the beginning of April to the end of October, you can also hear our Fifteen Minutes of Music series – presentations of talented music school pupils – which take place at 12:00 and 2:00 PM;

- Located on the Park premises is a restaurant open from the beginning of April to the end of October;

- The souvenir shop, located in the Prelude reception pavilion, is open from 1 April to 30 September: Monday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Tuesday–Sunday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM; from 1 October to 31 March: Monday – closed; Tuesday–Sunday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

We kindly ask you to exercise caution on the park grounds in Żelazowa Wola. Certain elements on the paths and in the space of the park architecture can be less visible.

GETTING TO ŻELAZOWA WOLA:

  • ChopinPASS – admission to the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw and Fryderyk Chopin’s Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, as well as round-trip transportation via comfortable minibus. Departure from Warsaw, Palace of Culture and Science. More info at: www.chopinpass.com.
  • via Polish Railways (PKP) and City Transportation Company (ZKM) in Sochaczew. The destination railway station is Sochaczew; then, at the Polish Railways station in Sochaczew, you should get on ZKM bus no. 6 bound for Żelazowa Wola (from 3 June to 15 October, trips on the no. 6 line are free of charge on weekends and holidays) or no. 1 bound for Kampinos. PKP schedule – rozklad-pkp.pl; ZKM schedule – sochaczew.livebus.pl;
  • via automobile – route 580 from Warsaw via Leszno and Kampinos bound for Sochaczew; route 92 from Warsaw via Ożarów Mazowiecki and Błonie, turning in the direction of Żelazowa Wola in the town of Kożuszki Parcel; or highway A2, getting off at the Wiskitki interchange bound for Sochaczew, and then continuing on routes 705 and 508 bound for Sochaczew and Żelazowa Wola. In the vicinity of the Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace are paid parking lots for automobiles.
