From 13 to 15 October 2015, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium and Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium will be staying in Warsaw on an official visit. The first day of her visit, Queen Mathilde, together with the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, visited the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw.

The royal couple’s visit in Poland is taking place three years after an official visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium. One point on the program of their visit, at the invitation of the First Lady of the Republic of Poland, visited to the Fryderyk Chopin Museum by Queen Mathilde.

Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium was born on 20 January 1973 in Uccle. She is the daughter of Count Patrick d’Udekem d’Acoz and Countess Anna Komorowska – granddaughter of Adam Zygmunt Sapieha. She studied speech therapy at the Institut Libre Marie Haps in Brussels and psychology at the Catholic University of Leuven. She is very involved in charitable work, especially for children, older people and those excluded from society. Her activities are also associated with equal rights for women, as well as support of projects to combat serious diseases and illiteracy. Aside from Flemish and French, the Queen speaks English, Italian and Spanish. She is a classical music lover and plays the piano.
