A NEW MANUSCRIPT IN THE CHOPIN MUSEUM COLLECTION

The collection of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum was enriched by an exceptionally valuable item. Thanks to the financial support of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, on 6 June, at the J.S. Stargardt auction house in Berlin, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute purchased a Chopin manuscript of the Waltz in F minor, Op. 70 No. 2 (1841) – an autograph presented to Anne Caroline Oury that had been held hitherto in a private collection. The list of new acquisitions also includes a note written by Chopin to Marie de Rozières and an undated letter by the composer to an unknown female addressee.
